We've shortened our foundation's name to Suncoast Hospice Foundation. Most of you already call our hospice Suncoast Hospice and have for years. We, too, prefer this more familiar version or nickname and we believe this change makes it easier for patients, families, physicians and others to know us, name us, and reach us. As the supporting foundation, we lead the transition as the hospice formally changes its name over the next few months.
Whether you call us by our full name - The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast - or our nickname Suncoast Hospice, we are your not-for-profit, community-based hospice and are fully dedicated to the mission, vision, and values of our founders as they established our hospice more than 30 years ago.
As always, we will continue to enhance and shape our services according to your needs, developing innovative programs as opportunities arise. Our staff of more than 1,500 professionals and more than 3,000 volunteers helps us deliver supporting, loving care to children and adults who are ill, engaged in care giving or coming to terms with grief and more. And we, as your hospice foundation, remain committed to active philanthropy and sound stewardship for Suncoast Hospice and its affiliated organizations.
